How is Kopia different from other European infant formulas?

While we do formulate, source and manufacture in Europe, Kopia formula is different from other European formulas in some pretty significant ways. First, we use organic native whey. We’ve also formulated a more modern formula containing DHA, ARA and organic prebiotics and probiotics. We test for chemicals, herbicides, pesticides, fluoride and heavy metals.

How does Kopia’s cost compare to other brands?

Kopia’s standard container of Organic Toddler Formula is larger than the typical U.S. baby formula package. An 800-gram tin of Kopia Organic Toddler Formula makes approximately 192 oz. of baby formula. The old adage applies: You get what you pay for. We don’t skimp on ingredients and use only the most premium ingredients available to create the highest quality nutrition for your baby. Every batch of Kopia’s Organic Infant Formula undergoes extensive third party testing for an array of heavy metals, including lead, arsenic, mercury, and cadmium, as well as a number of pesticides and herbicides helping us be more transparent about exactly what is in the formula you’re feeding your growing baby.  Read more about the quality and makeup of our formula, as well as our in-depth testing process here.

What group provides the Organic Certification?

Kopia Organic Toddler Formula is certified by Skal, the Netherlands’ official organic-certification organization; Skal is required to inspect production by the Netherlands’ Ministry of Agriculture, Nature, and Food Quality. Skal certification is recognized in the U.S. by the USDA Organic Certification program, as well as in many other countries around the world.

What is the difference between Kopia Toddler Formula sold in the United States and Kopia Infant Formula sold in Europe?

There is no difference between Kopia Toddler Formula sold in the United States and Kopia Infant Formula sold in Europe. The nutrition, formulation, manufacturing practices and packaging are identical. The reason we have to label the products differently is due to the FDA’s regulations for infant formula sold in the United States. All infant formula must be produced in an FDA approved facility and undergo clinical trials to demonstrate growth and tolerance in infants. Because toddler formula isn’t considered a sole source of nutrition, it doesn’t require a clinical study. Kopia Toddler Formula formulation meets the FDA’s nutritional requirements for infants 0-12 months, and is produced in an FDA approved facility with higher quality ingredients, but because it hasn’t yet completed its clinical trial to demonstrate growth and tolerance in infants, we can’t recommend Kopia Toddler Formula for use with infants under the age of 12 months in the United States.

What is the environmental impact of Kopia?

We’re as committed to the earth’s health as we are to yours which is why we only source quality organic ingredients. Organic agriculture helps sustain a healthy environment by eliminating pesticides and chemicals that deplete soil health, contaminate our water sources and pollute the air we breath. Healthy soil not only holds healthy bacteria but has been shown to store carbon dioxide helping to slow climate change.

Kopia is made in an award-winning sustainable factory with minimal impact on the environment. We transport with gravity in the production process limiting energy consumption. Almost all engines in our facility are frequency regulated and we use solar panels instead of natural gas.<

Our packaging is 100% recyclable from the box it’s shipped in to the tin that carries our nutrition.

How do I safely store and prepare my Kopia Organic Formula?

How do you test your products? 

Every single batch of Kopia Organic Toddler Formula is third party tested for an array of heavy metals, including lead, arsenic, mercury, and cadmium, as well as a number of pesticides and herbicides. Can I use Kopia Organic Toddler Formula if my child is younger than 12 months?

Is it safe to dilute Kopia’s Organic Formula?

No, the Directions for Preparation and Use (including the water-to-formula ratio) found on our packaging must be followed precisely in order to provide your child with the correct amount of nutrients needed. Our formula’s formulation is based on intensive research and testing and meets FDA requirements, so that you can rest assured your child is getting all the critical nutrients needed in the required amounts. Failure to follow the exact measurements provided when preparing our formula could lead to medical or developmental issues. 

Can I reheat a bottle of prepared formula after feeding a portion of it to my child?

The short answer: definitely not. The long answer: Once a prepared bottle has been fed to your child, it has been exposed to bacteria from your child’s mouth, which may proliferate and compromise the integrity of the formula if it’s refrigerated and reheated. If your child doesn’t finish the prepared bottle within the hour, the remaining formula should be discarded. Each bottle should be prepared with the amount of formula needed for a single feeding.

Do I need to warm this formula?

No, it’s not necessary to warm Kopia Organic Toddler Formula before giving it to your child. Depending on your child’s preference, it’s perfectly safe to offer cold or room temperature formula.

Can I heat my child’s formula in the microwave?

No. As convenient as it may seem, do not use a microwave to heat your formula. Its irregular warming effect can lead to unexpected “hot spots” which may startle and/or harm your child. To warm formula without a microwave, run the prepared bottle under hot water or place it in a bowl of hot water until it reaches your desired temperature.

Storage

Are your tins safe for the storage of food?

Yes. Our packaging is made specifically for the storage of infant products and healthcare nutrition. We make our tins from materials that do not leech heavy metals, with BPA NIA inks and coatings, and water-based and food safe glues & lubricants. Our packaging is also in compliance for food contact materials as defined by the European Commission Regulation and the United States FDA, as well as national regulations of Canada, China, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, & Spain. 

How long can a bottle of formula remain unrefrigerated?

Freshly mixed formula, or formula that has been stored in the refrigerator, can remain unrefrigerated for one hour. Formula left at room temperature for more than one hour should be discarded.

Can powdered formula be frozen or stored in the refrigerator? 

No. Kopia’s Organic Toddler Formula should be stored in a cool, dry spot. Once opened, it should still be stored in a cool, dry spot, tightly covered with the provided lid. 

How long can powdered formula be used after it has been opened?

Kopia’s Organic Toddler Formula should be used within one month of opening. After one month the quality of the formula may be compromised, and any unused formula should be discarded to ensure your baby gets only the safest, most healthful nutrition.

Should I use formula beyond its expiration date?

No. Once the “use by” or expiration date printed on each Kopia Organic Toddler Formula container has passed, the quality of the product cannot be ensured and should not be used to feed your child. We want to make sure your child is getting only the highest-quality nutrients. Before your initial use, always note the expiration date, and refrain from opening the container if that date has passed (even by just a day!).

How do I change my next order date?

• Log into your Account
• Click on 'Account' at the top to take you to your Account Page
• Scroll to the 'Manage your Plan' section and select 'Change Order Date’
• You will be taken to a calendar page where you can select the date you want your next order date processed
• Once you've selected your desired date, click 'Confirm'

How do I pause or cancel my subscription?

• Log into your Account  
• Click on 'Account' at the top
• Scroll down to the 'Manage Your Plan' section and click on 'Pause or Cancel Delivery'
• Then, a window will appear with four options:
• Pause for 1 month
• Pause for 2 months
• Pause for 3 months
• Cancel my Membership
• Once you select an option you'll see a confirmation message letting you know that the change that has been made.

How do I update my payment information?

• Log into your Account
• Click on 'Account’ at the top
• Scroll to the 'Shipping and Payment' section and click the 'Edit' button next to the payment information.

How do I change my shipping address?

• Log into your Account
• Once you're in, click 'Account' at top of the page
• Scroll down to the 'Shipping and Payment' section and click on 'Edit' next to your current shipping address
• A window will pop up, from there, enter your new address into the appropriate fields
• Click 'Update' at the bottom of the window and you'll see a confirmation page that your shipping address was updated.

Can I cancel or edit my order?

We work to fulfill and send your order as quickly as possible, which may limit our ability to adjust or cancel a shipment. If you have already received a confirmation email with an order number, we are unable to cancel that order as it has already been processed. 

If you’re on a subscription, you can cancel and edit your subscription anytime fourteen business days after placing your first order. This allows time for shipping and for you and your baby to try Kopia toddler formula. You will also receive an email 3 days before your next order is scheduled to process allowing you time to make any changes necessary.

You can adjust your plan and next order date by logging into your account.

What is your return policy for Kopia organic infant formula?

Due to the nature of the product, we cannot accept returns or issue refunds.

Please note that once an order is processed, we are unable to cancel or make changes to the shipment.

All sales are final. 

How do I track my Kopia order?

You will receive a shipping confirmation email with tracking information as soon as that information becomes available to us. You can also find the tracking link for your latest order available on your Account Page or view tracking for previous orders by clicking on the “Order History” link at the bottom of your Account Page .
